At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council, held on Thursday 9 May 2013, Councillor Edna Finneran was installed as the new Mayor of Halewood for 2013-2014, taking over from the retiring Mayor, Councillor Gary See. Our picture shows the Mayor and her sister-in law consort, Barbara Stuart.

ARE YOU 16-24 AND UNEMPLOYED ?
Are you aged 16-24, unemployed and looking for real work opportunities? In a partnership with the Agon Trust, the Town Council is providing help for unemployed 16-24 year olds to gain meaningful and sustainable employment. For 10 weeks, starting on 18th March, a FREE ‘Work Ready & Into Work’ programme is being held at the Arncliffe Centre. With a FREE bus pass, FREE meals and NO LOSS OF BENEFITS, the programme will develop your skills and give you a direct introduction to employers from many sector with real jobs. ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA (RLPO) CONCERT
If you were lucky enough to be at Halewood Academy for this years RLPO concert, you witnessed a wonderful evening. The orchestra, under the superb batonship of James Clark, treated the audience to marvellous arrangement of festive music. The massed choir from each of the Priumary Schools in Halewood and from the Academy itself, were magnificent and a true credit ot themselves, their family and schools. PENSIONERS' CHRISTMAS PARTY
Over 70 of our older pepole came together at the Arncliffe Centre recently to celebrateat the Town Council's Pensioners' Christmas Party. Cllr Bob Swann welcomed everyone to the celebration and Father Christmas took time off from his busy schedule at this time of year to deliever a gift to everyone. Just look at the joy on the faces of our guests!
Cllr Edna Finneran recently took pleasure in switching on the Christmas lights in the Shopping Centre which have been wholly funded by the Town Council. Many residents and visitors have commented about how nice the lights look and have thanked the Town Council for their investment.
The Town Council once again delighted 100's of children and their families at this years seasonal pantomimes. ALADDIN appesraed to packed houses at Hollies Hall,the Arncliffe Centre and New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre.
The Town Council also help fund the WIZARD OF OZ pantomime at Halewood Acadeny which again played to packed houses. Our picture shows the Mayor of Halewood, Cllr Edna Finneran, accompanied by her Consort, Barbara Stuart and the cast from the Wizard of Oz. Also in the picture is Cllr Norman Hogg.
2013 GARDENING COMPETITION

Thank you to everyone to supported this years Culturefest and many congratulations to all those who triumphed at any of the events. Particular thanks to the Patron of the Culturefest, Richard McCulloch and to Alison Shacklady and the rest of the Culturefest Committee whose hard work and dedication have ensured the success of this years celebrations.

This includes our new Members Code of Conduct which was adopted on the basis of a Knowsley MBC model specifically for all Town and Parish Councils within the Borough, and was adopted on 20 September 2012, replacing that original NALC Model adopted at the Council meeting on 14 June 2012.
